Amala Guha, PhD, MPH, MA
photo of dr. amala guhaDr. Amala Guha is an Assistant Professor of Medicine and the Program Director of Complementary and Alternative Supportive Care "CASC," a CME accredited program, at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine.

Dr. Guha's expertise in Cancer Immunology and her training in Ayurvedic Medicine including herbs brings a unique blend of understanding in the field of integrative medicine. She lectures extensively on Complementary and Alternative Medicine and has been a reviewer for the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine, a branch of the National Institutes of Health (NIH). She is often invited by the NIH to speak on various subjects. She teaches "Ayurveda" at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine and conducts workshops independently and with Dr. Vasant Lad. Dr. Guha is the Editor-in-Chief for the journal of "ELEMENTS: Ayurveda, Health and Nutrition" to be launched in June 2003 (for more information go to www.ayurvedahealth.org).

Ayurveda is the world's oldest Health Care System that originated in India. This 6ooo-year-old health care system has contributed in the understanding of holistic approach to medicine in the West. Some of its components like Meditation, Yoga, Message, Herbs and Panchakarma are in practice in this country.
